LTGEN HERNANDO DCA IRIBERRI AFP, Commanding General of the Philippine Army inspired sixty new Warrior Diplomat as he spoke before them during the Commencement Exercises of the Armed Forces of the Philippines Civil Military Operations Officers Correspondence Course Class 07-14 on November 12, 2014 at the Multi-Purpose Hall of the Civil Relations Service, AFP, Camp Aguinaldo, Quezon City.
“In confronting issues, stand your ground on the issues. As CMO operators, you are expected to be proactive and all knowing. Always remember that the end result is to bring the AFP closer to the people. Stay in touch with the pulse on citizenry, online, in the field, or in the news,” LtGen. Iriberri said to the graduates as he expounded on the three guide post of CMO.
The OCC 07-14 DIWA (Diplomat Warriors) Class is composed military personnel from the different units of the AFP, PNP, reserved officers, civilians from the Office of the Solicitor General and private entities such as Smart Communications Inc. and Ecofish Project Philippines.
LtGen. Iriberri further added in his speech as the Guest of Honor, “Social Media is a new dimension to our list. The life of a CMO Operator today is more challenging. And for the civilian students, you shall serve as our active and effective partners.”
LtGen. Iriberri also recognized the leadership and efforts of Civil Relations Service, headed by its Commander BGen. Romeo Gan, and the AFP CMO School, headed by its Commandant Maj. Jo-ar Herrera, in stimulating new ways such as the first web-based Learning Management System (LMS) to reciprocate the need to increase the number of CMO-qualified Officers. “Such training program is vital for propagating messages,” LtGen. Iriberri said.
