AFPCMOS Produces Forty New Warrior Diplomats

Eleven weeks after the online discourse, the forty (40) students of the Strategic CMO Officers Online Course Class 14-18, “Dakila,” finally interact face to face on its final week before their graduation on May 11, 2018 at the Bulwagang Reyes, Civil Relations Service, AFP Camp Aguinaldo, Quezon City.

The class is composed of officers from the different units of the Armed Forces of the Philippines, Philippine National Police, and Bureau of Jail Management and Penology, including two civilian employees.  After devoting long hours on the Online Learning Management System of the AFPCMOS, hurdling the challenge of complying with the course requirements, all the while managing their time between schooling, work, and their other personal priorities, they have come together for the Integration Phase of the course from May 7 to 11, 2018.

Students produce their Strategic Communications Snapshot on issues on Preventing and Countering Violent Extremism

During this culminating phase of the course, select Subject Matter Experts have delivered lectures and facilitated discussions to provide a deeper understanding of CMO in the context of the AFP Community Support Program, and Preventing and Countering Violent Extremism.  A workshop on Strategic Communications was also conducted to help the students better develop one of the very crucial skills in CMO.

Topped the class is an officer from the Philippine Air Force 1LT RAJIV B CAPATOY PAF. Graduated number two is LCDR RODNEY P CUDAL PN while PSUPT RUDY L ELANDAG earned the third spot. Special Studies Awards were also given to 1LT CAPATOY and LCDR CUDAL PN for obtaining the highest grade in Strategic Communications Snapshot.

Also, two students, CPT RAMBELLE C FLORES PROF (RES) and PSUPT RUDY L ELANDAG PNP shared their reflections on the course, talking about its challenges, the bonds they have formed as classmates, the passionate discussions they have exchanged, and, the honor and the responsibility of being a Warrior Diplomat during the closing ceremony.

The school also recognized BGEN NILDA L NESPEROS AFP, The Chief Nurse, AFP, and PCSupt RHODEL O SERMONIA, Director, Police Community Relations Group as honorary members of the class for being valuable partners in giving utmost support in the conduct of the class.

Gracing the closing ceremony is MGEN JOSE ANTONIO CARLOS B MOTRIL AFP, The Internal Auditor of the AFP.  Through the inspirational vignettes he has shared the wit of a Warrior Diplomat, has challenged the graduates to apply what they have learned about Strategic CMO in their own workplace, and in the practice of their professions.

With their class slogan “A Peace Maker and a Warrior Diplomat” the forty new graduates of SCMOOC Cl 14-18, the AFPCMO School has once again produced more warriors of peace and valued partners in nation-building.
