Now at its 4th Class, the AFP CMO School opens the newly reviewed course, Social Media Product Development and Management Training this morning at the Multi-Purpose Hall of the CRSAFP. The Keynote Speaker, Col Edgard A Arevalo PN(M) (GSC) welcomes the future Social Media Warriors who were sent by their respective units from different branches of service. 26 of which are from the Philippine Army, 12 are from the Philippine Air force, 2 are from the Philippine National Police, 1 is a Philippine Navy Personnel from the Presidential Security Guard, and 2 are Civilian Employees.
“Information is a prime commodity. Information is power,” as the keynote speaker emphasized during his speech at the opening ceremony. “We are at war…a war of information, a war that involves 2.3 Billion active Social Media users and still gaining about 12 users every second…”
After the opening, Maj Gene R Orense PA, the course director, leads the class orientation. Likewise all students are required to take the Basic Computer Literacy Assessment test that determines their capability to accomplish tasks that involve basic to advance computer skills. Tasks were already disseminated to each students and more social media information and exploration awaits the 43 future Social Media Warriors.
