Thirty one (31) students successfully completed the Strategic Civil Military Operations (CMO) Officers Online Course Cl 13-17 conducted by the Armed Forces of the Philippines Civil Military Operations School, Civil Relations Service (AFP-CMOS, CRS, AFP). Coming from the Major Services and the Technical Services of the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP), the Philippine National Police (PNP), the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP), and from the civilian sector, these New Warrior Diplomats are prepared to be Strategic CMO Planners equipped with the foundations and fundamentals of strategic CMO.
During the closing ceremony held on 29 September 2017, students whose commendable performances were acknowledged. CPT MARIO O GAMBAN JR PROF topped the class and graduated number one with an average grade of 95.74%; he also received a Special Studies Award for obtaining the highest grade (97%) in the subject Regional Study. LTC ISAGANI G NATO (MI) PA graduated number two with an average of 95.37%, and was also given Special Studies award for obtaining the highest grade (92.5%) in the subject Strategic Communications Snapshot. Mr Diowayne V Dacayan graduated number three with an average of 94.80%.
Other Special Studies Awardees were CPT JONALD N FALLAR (INF) PA, CPT ROBERT G PINEDA PAF, 2LT LIEZL R CAMBRONERO (QMS) PA, PCINSP WILSON C LAGAN JR, PSINSP NOVIE A BATUYONG, JSINSP JESSIE JAMES C GINGOYON, and Mr Marc Anthony Dizon for obtaining the highest grade (95.37%) in the Strategic Communications Snapshot; and CPT NORMAN M TAGROS (INF) PA for obtaining the highest grade (100%) in the subject Target Audience and Issue Analysis.
COL EDGARD A AREVALO (GSC) PN(M), Deputy Commander CRS AFP, keynote speaker during the closing ceremony, congratulated the graduates of the online course and challenged them to share with others what they have learned from the course and to be a catalyst for a better and more positive change. He also emphasized the importance of perseverance as key to success, especially so in advancing oneself to become a productive member of society, especially in their new roles as CMO Operators.
The Thirty One (31) Officers comprise the 13th batch of graduates of the Strategic Civil-Military Operations Officers Online Course, one of the courses offered by the AFP CMOS. The course is designed to enhance students’ capabilities as warrior diplomats in order for them to come up with deliberate CMO plans and concepts that can be implemented in any given area.
