AFPCMOS Begins Leadership Transition

CRSAFP, CGEA– The Armed Forces of the Philippines Civil-Military Operations School (AFPCMOS) conducted its Change of Command Ceremony on 18 April 2017 at the Headquarters of Civil Relations Service, Armed Forces of the Philippine (CRSAFP) in the presence of its distinguished guests and stakeholders.

MGEN RONNIE S EVANGELISTA AFP, Commander of the CRSAFP presided over the change of command ceremony and recognized the truly commendable achievements of the LTC EDGARDO V TALAROC JR (INF) PA who served as the Commandant of the AFPCMOS from January 2014 to April 2017. His dedication, excellence, and exemplary efforts have truly assisted immeasurably in the development and overall success of the country’s prominent CMO school.

Under LTC TALAROC’s leadership, the standard of excellence of the school has been sustained. His recognition of the need to adapt in the dynamically changing CMO environment has opened doors to the apparent improvements of the school. One of his notable accomplishments for the school is the construction of the AFPCMOS Multi-Purpose Building that is currently being utilized as a billeting facility of the AFPCMOS personnel. It was made possible through his efforts and the legislative support given by the Magdalo Partylist.

Among his numerous initiatives is the conduct of the curriculum review of courses being taught at AFPCMOS in order to build on the school’s academic excellence by offering courses that respond to the current needs and demands of the AFP. As a leader with a vision, he also initiated the crafting of the proposed Table of Organization and Equipment to provide information on the current status, capabilities of the school and to address the needs for its improvement in order to meet the standards of a training institution.  He also authored and co-authored several AFP and CRSAFP manuals.

During his stint as Commandant, the AFPCMOS has received several recognitions from the various units of the AFP and other government agencies and private organizations.

LTC TALAROC is now assigned at the Office of the Undersecretary for Defense Policy of the Department of National Defense. As he leaves office after his dignified tour of duty, an equally competent officer was designated as the Acting Commandant of the School.
