AFPCMOS Welcomes New Batch of Warrior Diplomats

The Armed Forces of the Philippines Civil Military Operations School (AFPCMOS) held on Thursday, February 26, 2015, the Joint Opening Ceremony of the Strategic CMO Officers Correspondence Course (CMOOCC) Class 08-15 and AFP CMO Joint NCO Course (CMONCO) Class 13-15. It was a momentous occasion well-attended by important guests not only from the Civil Relations Service (CRS) but from other military camps as well, including the commandants of the Philippine Army and the Philippine Navy. Several CMO School alumni were present to support the new class.

The Keynote Speaker during the occasion was CRSAFP Deputy Commander COL LENARD T AGUSTIN, a firm advocate of professional learning, who represented the Commander and delivered his message to the more than 100-plus enthusiastic students of the two courses, composed of military and civilian personnel of the AFP, as well as professionals from various private and government fields.

In his welcome remarks, MAJ TALAROC advised the new batch of future warrior diplomats to keep an open mind and be ready to take on the challenges of the course. He also gave emphasis on “Unity in Diversity” which he believes would result in accomplishing a lot and becoming more successful.

In the Commander’s message, read by COL AGUSTIN, he stressed the role of the CMO in the AFP triad and encouraged the student to “not only understand the concept of CMO but also to advocate later on the significance and relevance of the CMO among decision makers in the defense and security sectors.”

COL AGUSTIN also posed a challenge to the new Commandant of the AFPCMOS, saying that he can to either of two things – to equal or surpass the achievements and accomplishments of his predecessor – and reiterated his confidence that MAJOR TALAROC can accomplish the task. – Anabel T. Lasaten
